Here,

5x + 3y = 9 ------- Eq.(i)

2x - 3y = 12 ------ Eq.(ii)

By adding Eq.(i) and Eq.(ii), we get

5x + 3y = 9

2x - 3y = 12

_________

7x = 21

x = \frac{21}{7}

\large\fbox{ x = 3}

\mapsto By substituting the value of x in Eq.(ii), we get

====> 2x - 3y = 12

====> 2(3) - 3y = 12

====> 6 - 3y = 12

====> -3y = 12 - 6

====> -3y = 6

\large y= \frac {6}{-3}

 \large y = (-2)

\large\fbox{So, the value of x is 3 and of y is (-2)}
