Let the required number of years =n

Given tn=1500,a=700,d=40

We know that,

tn=a+(n−1)d

⇒1500=700+(n−1)40

⇒800=(n−1)40

⇒20=n−1

⇒n=21

Hence, in 21 year he will reach the maximum of scale.
