PRACTICALS - PARTI
Unit:
Linear equations in two variables
Sabunit: Equation of a line parallel to X-axis or Y-axis
Objective
On a graph paper, draw a line parallel to the X-axis or Y-axis. Write co-ordinates of any four
points on the line Write how the equation of the line can be obtained from the co-ordinates.
(Instead of parallel lines, lines passing through the origin or intersecting the X-axis or Y-axis
can also be considered.]
Prerequisite knowledge
1. Drawing co-ordinate system on the graph
2. Drawing a line parallel to X-axis or Y-axis on the graph
3. Selecting points on the line and writing their co-ordinates
Framing the equation of the line using the co-ordinates of the points on the line
Materials required
Graph paper, writing paper, pen, pencil, compass box, etc.
Procedure
1. Draw X-axis and Y-axis on a graph paper.
2. Draw a line parallel to X-axis and one line parallel to Y-axis.
