Practice Time
1 Write three points of difference between uniform and non-uniform motion

2. Draw a flow chart to represent the different types of motion with one example each

3. How is a speedometer different from odometer?

4. Diya and Riya have to cover different distances to reach their school but they take the same time to reach the school What can you say about their speed?

5. If Boojho covers a certain distance in one hour and Paheli covers the same distance in two hours, who travels at a higher speed?

u can just give the ans in the 4th one without drawing a flowchart

1. Uniform Motion

A body is said to be in uniform motion if it travels equal distances in equal intervals of time, no matter how small these time intervals may be. If we draw distance time graph for uniform motion then it will be straight line.

Non-Uniform Motion

A body is said to be in a non-uniform motion if it travels unequal distances in equal intervals of time. For example, if we drop a ball from the roof of a tall building, we will notice that it will cover unequal distances in equal intervals of time.

3. An odometer measures miles traveled. A speedometer measures how fast you are traveling.

A speedometer measures rate of travel (speed).

4. Diya and Riya have to cover different distances to reach their school but they take the same time to reach the school. It's clear from the phrases that the speed must be different.

5. If Boojho covers a certain distance in one hour and Paheli covers the same distance in two hours.

Boojho travels at a higher speed.
