In 32 days they can together complete the job.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Here Pradeep has done \frac{1}{4} th of a job in 14 days and Saquib completes the rest of the job in 56 days.

We know that,

Work done = Efficiency × Time taken

Let’s assume the total work done to be ‘1’, Pradeep’s efficiency be ‘P’ and Saquib’s efficiency be ‘S’

According to the given information,

For Pradeep

P \times 14 =\frac{1}{4}

P = \frac{1}{4\times 14}

P =\frac{1}{56}                              [1]

For Saquib

S \times 56 = \frac{3}{4}

S = \frac{3}{56\times4}

S = \frac{3}{224}                         [2]

If they work together, let’s assume they take ‘T’ days.

(P + S) \times T = 1

⇒  (\frac{1}{56}  + \frac{3}{224} ) \times T = 1        [ from 1 and 2 ]

(\frac{224+3\times56}{56\times224} )\times T=1

(\frac{392}{12544} )\times T=1

T=\frac{12544}{392}

⇒ T = 32  days

Therefore in 32 days they can together complete the job.
