Answer: Pradip bought chikoo for Rs. 50

               Pradip brought mangoes for Rs. 150.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of chikoo be denoted by 'x'

Given Pradip has Rs. 200 and,

  • He bought chikoo for one fourth of the amount.

       That is the cost of chikoo,

                                  x=\frac{200}{4}  = 50

Pradip bought chikoo for Rs. 50.

Now, the present balance that Pradip has = 200-50 = Rs. 150

Let the cost of mangoes be denoted by 'y'

  • Next, he bought mangoes for three fourths of the amount he had.

        That is the cost of mangoes,

                                  y= \frac{200*3}{4} = 150

Pradip brought mangoes for Rs. 150.

And, the present balance that Pradip has = 150-150 = Rs. 0
