Since prakash buys equal quantities of two kind of orange at the rate of 6 for a rupee and 9 for a rupee.

So, Cost price of one orange = Rs (6 + 9)/2 =

Rs 15/2 = Rs 7.5

given, Selling price of one orange = Rs 8

Now, (Selling price > Cost price)

Thus, gain = Rs 8 Rs 7.5 = Rs 0.5

Hence, gain = Rs 0.5/Rs 7.5 × 100 = 20/3 = 6.67%
