(240-p)/2=p
Amount with Prakash  Rs 80
similarly solving for Sameer and Ramesh  you get 60 and 48 respectivly...
so Tarun is left with 52 Rupees

The amount with Tarun is Rs.52

Given :

Total amount = Rs.240

Prakash has half the total amount what others have.

Sameer has one third of the total amount of what the others have.

Ramesh has one-fourth of the total amount what others have.

To find :

The amount with Tarun

Solution :

Let the amount with Tarun, Sameer and Ramesh be Rs.x

Therefore amount with Prakash = Rs. x/2

Hence, x + x/2 = 240

=> 3x/2 = 240

=> 3x = 480

x = 480/3

= 160

Hence, amount with Prakash = 160/2

= Rs.80

Let the amount with Tarun, Prakash and Ramesh be Rs.y

Therefore amount with Sameer = Rs. y/3

Hence, y + y/3 = 240

=> 4y/3 = 240

=> 4y = 720

y = 720/4

= 180

Hence, amount with Sameer = 180/3

=Rs. 60

Let the amount with Tarun, Prakash and Sameer be Rs.z

Therefore amount with Ramesh = Rs. z/4

Hence, z + z/4 = 240

=> 5z/4 = 240

=> 5z = 960

z = 960/5

= 192

Hence, amount with Ramesh = 192/4

=Rs. 48

Therefore the amount with Tarun = 240 - (80+60+48)

= 240 - 188

= 52

Hence, the amount with Tarun is Rs.52
