Prakash took a solution of copper sulphate in a beaker and dropped a clean iron nail into it and left it for about an hour.
a. What changes do you observe?
b.Are these changes chemical in nature?

a The blue colour of the copper sulphate solutions gets faded and a brownish coat is formed on the iron nail

b Yes, these changes are chemical in nature

c Copper Sulphate solution when reacted with iron forms iron sulphate and copper since iron displaces copper from copper sulphate

CuSO4+Fe---->FeSO4+Cu
