According to the question :

Let 10 rupees notes be x

And 20 Rupees notes be y

x = y + 3

10x + 20y = 180

10 ( x + 2y ) = 180

x + 2y = 18

y + 3 + 2y = 18

3y + 3 = 18

3y = 18 - 3

3y = 15

y = 15 / 3

y = 5

x = 3 + y

x = 5 + 3

x = 8

So there are 8 notes of 10 rupees and 5 notes of 20 rupees.

Hope it helps you.

Have a good day.

Answer:

Number of Rs. 10 notes = 8 and Number of Rs. 20 notes = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of Rs. 10 notes = x and number of Rs. 20 notes = y

Given that number of Rs. 10 is 3 more than that of Rs. 20

⇒ x = y + 3

Also, Total money in the denomination of Rs. 10 and Rs. 20 is 180

⇒ 10x + 20y = 180

Putting x = y + 3 in above equation

⇒ 10(y + 3) + 20y = 180

⇒ 30y + 30 = 180

⇒ 30y = 150

⇒ y = 5

So, x = 8

Therefore, Number of Rs. 10 notes = 8 and Number of Rs. 20 notes = 5
