Let the speed of Water current be  y km/h
Given speed of Boat in still water 12 km/h
then,
  Time taken to travel 136 km upstream and 136 km downstream is 8 hours
so,

because time= distance/ speed

=>   136/(12-y) + 136/(12+y) = 8
=>   y²= 144 - 1.412
=>   y=11.94 km/h

so the speed of the stream is 11.94 km/h

tiwaavi: How it cn possible
tiwaavi: Answer is wqrong
DeVasu: You are right brother , I made a mistake in 1st step, i subtracted two terms instead of adding them, Sorry my bad
DeVasu: When The Distance is 36km, we can replace 36 for 136 in the first step,
DeVasu: then the equation will become y^2 = 144 - 108; And the answer will be y = 6 km/h, so the speed of the stream would be 6km/h
