Pravin bought one pencil, eraser = Rupees 7.50

He gave total rupees to shopkeeper = 10

To find the total money he gave back, we have to subtract.

==> 10 - 7.50

==> 2.50

So, Pravin got back 2.50 Rupees back from the shopkeeper.

Given,

The total cost of one pencil and one eraser\[ = 7.50\]

To find,

The number of coins returned by the shopkeeper.

Solution,

Know that in one rupee there are two fifty paisa coins.

So, the amount returned by the shopkeeper

\[\begin{array}{l} = 10 - 7.50\\ = 2.50\end{array}\]

Therefore, the number of fifty paisa coins are

\[\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow 2.50\\ \Rightarrow 1 + 1 + 0.50\\ \Rightarrow \left( {0.50 + 0.50} \right) + \left( {0.50 + 0.50} \right) + 0.50\\ \Rightarrow 5{\rm{coins}}\end{array}\]

Hence, the number of coins are \[5.\]
