Answer:

Pravin had 100 rupees and Ritesh had 60 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

5:3

=5/3

=5x/3x

5x - 20=3x+20(20 rupees)

=5x-3x=20+20

=2x=40

x=20

5*x(Pravin's beginning money)

3*x(Ritesh's beginning money)

=5*20=100

3*20=60

Answer:

Amount Pravin received = 5x

Amount Ritesh received = 4x

Amount Pravin gave Ritesh = Rs. 20

So,

5x - 20 = 3x + 20

5x-3x = 20+20

2x = 40

x = 40/2

x = 20

Hence,

Amount with Pravin = 5 x 20

                                 = 100

Amount with Ritesh = 4 x 20

                                 = 80
