Gandagi Mukt Bharat from 8-15 August 2020

.The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) is organising a week-long

behaviour change campaign called ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ (GMB) from 8th to 15th August

2020. As the name implies, the campaign aims to reaffirm commitment towards building a

cleaner and healthier future.

States and UTs are expected to actively participate in the programme as they mobilise

communities at District, Block and Village levels to engage in cleaning, plantation,

promotion of behaviour change, shramdaan and other swachhata related activities.

The highlight of the week-long campaign is the inauguration of the Rashtriya Swachhata

Kendra (RSK) on 8th August. A tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the RSK was first announced by

the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 10th April 2017 at the centenary celebrations of Gandhiji's

indigo agitation, the Champaran Satyagraha. The RSK has been established at the Gandhi

Smriti and Darshan Samiti at Rajghat in New Delhi - a dynamic experience centre to actively

engage with citizens to impart information, awareness, and education around Swachhata in

an interactive format with a balanced mix of digital and outdoor installations.

...मेरा गाँव उत्तर प्रदेश के बुलंद शहर जिले में आता है। मेरा गाँव बहुत ही साफ-सुथरा है। हमारे गाँव के सभी गली मोहल्ले गन्दगी मुक्त है। हमारा गाँव हरे भरे पेड़ पौधों से भरा है। पहले हमारा गाँव इतना साफ़ और हरा भरा नहीं था। हमारे गाँव को गन्दगी मुक्त तथा हरयाली के लिए यहाँ के लोगों ने बहुत मेहनत की। गाँव को बेहतर बनाने के लिए सरकार का भी बड़ा योगदान रहा।

पहले हमारे गाँव में शौचालय की सुविधा नहीं थी। लेकिन सरकार द्वारा चलाई गई शौचालय अभियान की मदत से आज हमारे गाँव में घर घर शौचालय है। पहले हमारे गाँव में कूड़ेदान नहीं नहीं थे लेकिन अब जगह जगह कूड़ेदान मिलेंगे। हमारे गाँव के लोग कभी कूड़े को इधर उधर सड़क पे नहीं फेकते। लोग कूड़े को सिर्फ कूड़ेदान में ही डालते है।

हमारे गाँव में पक्की सड़कें तथा पानी के निकास के लिए बंद नालियां बनी हुई है। हमारे गाँव में ऐसी व्यवस्था की गई है की बारिश होने पर आने जाने के रास्तों पर कीचड़ नहीं होते तथा पानी का जमाव भी नहीं होता है जिससे मच्छरों के पनपने का खतरा भी नहीं होता। हमारे गाँव का वातावरण भी काफी शुद्ध है जिससे यहाँ के लोग कम बीमार पड़ते है। यही वजह है जो आज हमारा गाँव गन्दगी मुक्त है।
