The most important precautions to be taken while finding out or verifying the resistivity of a material are the following :
◆Do keep in mind that the material (of which resistance is verified) does not heat due to excessive passage of electricity.
So once you record the 1st observation cut off the electricity supply as soon as possible and then again switch it on while taking the next observation.
◆All the electrical connections should be appropriate and tight.
If it is loose then appropriate resistance could not be found.
◆The Voltmeter and Ammeter should be connected correctly i.e. Voltmeter should be connected in parallel and Ammeter in series.
◆The Voltmeter and Ammeter should have appropriate divisions and proper range .
