When a ray of monochromatic light would pass through a prism, you would see it refract but it will not disperse

→ When a ray of monochromatic light would pass through a prism, you would see it refract but it will not disperse as its a beam of single wavelength.
→ When light enters a medium with a different density it bends (refracts). Because white light contains a collection of component colors with varying wavelengths, each color is refracted by a different amount. This is the phenomenon Sir Isaac Newton observed at home using a prism. He observed the sun light dispersing into multiple colors(like a rainbow).
→ Observing this property of light we can tell that when a monochromatic light is passed through a prism, it will refract but it won’t behave similar to white light.
