THE REASON IS THAT COVALENT BONDS ARE STRONG BOND AS COMPARE TO THE IONIC BOND SO THE COVALENT BOND REQUIRES HIGH TEMPERATURE TO BREAK DOWN SO IT HAS HIGH MELTING POINT AND THE IONIC BOND REQUIRES LOW TEMPERATURE TO BREAK DOWN SO IT HAS LOW MELTING POINT.
I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU IF HELP THEN PLS MARK ME AS BRAINLIST AND THANKS ME.

Covalent compound is formed by two anions or two cations and on other hand ionic compound is formed by one anion and one cation so their bond is very strong as compared to covalent and is very difficult to break but the bonds in covalent are comparatively easy to break.....
