⭐ ROCKS - Rocks are simple aggregates of minerals with a definite composition of each comoonents.

⭐ ROCKS can be of three types - Igneous, Sedimentary as well as Metamorphic.

⭐ IGNEOUS ROCKS are the primary rocks which are formed by the effect of cooling, solidification and crystallisation of magma on the above surface of the Earth. They are hard and compact as well as granular and crystalline. Most of them consist of silicates.

⭐ SEDIMENTARY ROCKS are the secondary rocks which are formed by the action of deposition of sediments on the above surface of the earth. Sedimentary rocks are most commonly seen in some sandy areas and these rocks are generally not crystalline. They contain rocky layers also known as STRATA. So, sedimentary rocks are often known as stratified rocks. The process that turns loose sediments into hard secondary stage rocks is called lithification

⭐ METAMORPHIC ROCKS are the last tyoes of rocks and the word "Metamorphic" is derived from the word "Metamorphosis" which means "Change in form". These rocks are formed as a result of thermal or dynamic or regional metamorphism. When the pre existing matured layersof rocks gets changed in texture and composition, metamorphic rocks formed.
