Answer:

The true solution preparation of common salt, sugar and Alum was given below.

Explanation:

True Solution:

  • The solution which cannot be separated by the process of filtration is known as true solution.
  • True solution is a stable, transparent and homogeneous mixture.
  • The substance whose particle size ranging from 1nm it dissolves in water and forms true solution.
  • Alum is generally made up of water molecules, aluminium of other metal sulphates.

Preparation:

Step 1: Three beakers are taken and are labelled as A, B and C

Step 2: Fill 100 ml of water in each beaker.

Step 3: Add 10 grams of common salt to beaker A.

Step 4: Add 10 grams of Sugar to beaker B

Step 5: Add 10 grams of Alum to beaker C

Step 6: By using glass rod stir each beaker separately.

  • To check the transparency, small strip of cellophane paper and paste was added to each of the test tube and the color was observed. The solution was transparent because no color spot was seen.
  • After stirring, the solutions in the beaker A, B and C was filtered separately using filter paper. No Traces were seen on the filter paper because the solution was translucent.
  • To check the stability, after stirring the solution was allowed to rest for 10 to 20 minutes. No residues will settle down. This shows that the true solution in Beaker A, B and C are stable
