An employee's performance is dependent on a number of factors:
1. Create a Pleasing, Friendly and a Communicative atmosphere: An employee spends most of his day at the office/ factory etc. If the atmosphere is healthy, he will be enthusiastic to come to work everyday. Therefore, ensure the space the employee works in, is a place he enjoys coming to.

2: Honest and Open Communication: An employee should feel free to communicate his ideas, doubts, anxieties freely with his /her superiors or his/her team. Encourage honesty and make it the motto, so that the employees understand it's significance.

3. Employee Incentives & Remuneration: Incentives, whether they are small or big, have proved to be very beneficial. For example "a lunch at a hotel", "gift coupon", "a paid holiday" all this instil a sense of achieving a certain goal.

4. Job Security: An employee needs reassurance his services are valued in an organisation, especially in times of economic hardship. Re-assure him and motivate him. A job, which makes an employee feel insecure, leads to a decrease in his output.

5. Know Your Employee: It isn't good enough to know your employees name, his role or his function in the organisation. Understand the background of your employee. Learn about the situations he is coming from, so that you can advice him/her on an issue that he if facing and motivate the employee. This gives the employee the feeling that you are interested in him/ her. Learn about their hobbies and get to know the employee.
