Water in the roots move by two pathways. Plants absorb water through the entire surface - roots, stems and leaves. However, mainly the water is absorbed by roots. First root absorb water from the ground, then xylem present in the stem takes the water and give it to the leaves this is transpiration process

transpiration = the exhalation of water vapor through the stomata
