Sparse settlement:

This type of settlement is also known as Dispersed/Scattered settlement. This pattern consists of isolated dwellings or a few clusters of houses scattered over a large area. Settlements of this pattern are generally found in forest areas, hilly tracts, deserts or remote areas.
