Normal Human Audibility Range is 20Hz to 20,000 Hz.
Infrasonic Sound :
This is below the range that a human ear can detect.Elephants and Giraffes use Infrasonic sound waves to communicate between herds over a greater distance.Nowadays scientist are using microphones to track the herd of animals even if they are hidden in dense areas. Infra-sound can be used to detect Volcanic eruption.Scientist can use infra-sound to tract the meteors trough atmosphere.
Ultrasound :The sound waves with frequencies greater than 20,000Hz are called as Ultra sound which human ear cannot detect.But it has many applications in various fileds like :Waves with frequencies less than 20Hz are known as Infrasonic.
--->Industrial application:
1. Drilling holes or making cuts of desired shapes.
2. Ultrasonic Cleaning of dirty clothes, plates or any other objects.
3. To detect the defects in metal blocks.
---> Medicinal Application;
1. Imaging of organs like Ultra sound scanning of Stomach, liver, Uterus, gall bladder etc.
2.Echo cardiography[ECG]
3. Ultrasounds are used to break the stones in kidney.
--> SONAR -Sound Navigation and Ranging --
This method is used to detect the objects under water by means of Ultrasonic waves.
Sonar is also used to determine the depth of Ocean.
