There are different resources found in all over the country and the state I live in is Assam, the resources which are found in a very large quantity in this state are the following:
- Coal
- Petroleum
- Natural Gas
- Limestone
- Crude Oil ( this is the most important mineral of the state)
The coal is used by the railway and for hydropower.
Assam is also responsible for providing raw materials to different industries.
Natural gas is not a very important mineral in the state so only a small quantity is utilized the remaining is the wasted limestone which is used as raw materials for cement.
The resources which are deficit in the state are
- Iron Ore
- Forest Resources (forests provide numerous natural resources but they are not found in Assam)
- Electricity
Assam has a power potential in terms of coal, oil and natural gas, so a lot of projects can be done with this state but this state is lagging behind in terms of installed power capacity(electricity)

The state in which I reside is Andhra Pradesh which is in Hyderabad, this state is popular for mining for at least 42 minerals in which some are listed below:
- Limestone
- Bauxite
- Beach Sands
- Quartz
- Manganese
- Dolomite
Andhra Pradesh is also connected to 17 small and big rivers which help in making the cultivated lands. There are also man-made canals which help in distributing the water for the irrigation purposes. Forests are also present in the state which totals the area of around 20% in the state and this is the major source of income for the tribal people living there.
In my state, there is huge gold mining potential but there are not enough resources to mine them so that resource is in deficit.
