Answer:

The news report on the story of the snake and the mirror.

Explanation:

The author of this short tale is a prominent Malayalam author named Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. In this narrative, he wished to discuss the experiences of a homeopathic physician, and the doctor himself provided the narration.

A homeopath physician resided in a modest rental space. He had a straightforward life. In his chamber, he could see rats moving about. He entered the room at around ten o'clock on a steamy July night. At the restaurant, he ate his supper. He heard a disturbance from above shortly after entering the room. He took a seat next to the table and opened the book "Materia Medica."

He once again heard the same sound coming from the rooftop as he was gazing admiringly into the mirror, but he paid it little mind. He lighted his beedi and began to consider getting married. He desired to wed a wealthy female doctor who would be an obese woman for good cause.

All of a sudden, as he was contemplating these things, he heard a dull thud, as if a rubber tube had dropped on the ground. However, it was actually a snake that slithered over the chair's back, landed on his shoulder, and wound itself around his left arm. He began to plan his escape. His left arm was a little sore. He believed that he would pass away.

However, he became drawn to the mirror and climbed out to escape the snake.
