Heavy rain brings Mumbai to a standstill

MUMBAI: Mumbai came to a standstill on Friday as heavy rain battered most parts of the city throwing normal life out of gear and once again exposing the monsoon preparedness of the city.
Heavy downpour and waterlogging have hit train services and vehicular traffic leading to chaos across the city. Most of the flights have also been delayed.
Many residents were forced to stay indoors due to the flooding. Some of the areas badly hit by waterlogging included included Sion, Matunga, King Circle, Santacruz, Hind mata- Dadar, Grant road and Borivali.
The incessant rain has led to closure of schools, colleges and even forced the courts to declare a holiday.
