The education system at the time, when my parents were in school was very basic. They had not many facilities like we are provided with today. As told by them, the subjects they studied included all the basic subjects that we study today like Science, Maths, Social studies, etc. and added to that they had music/dance/cooking classes arranged once in a week.
They travelled to school either by foot or on bicycles and not on a school bus or motor vehicles like us. Their teachers were also very strict and the punishment at that time was not something to be underestimated. My parents told me about their fear of getting punished during school hours because unlike today there was no restriction on punishment in schools.
