The main reason for agitation raised against their constructions is to save the water

One reason is that can be through the construction of dam the people living near the dam lost their homes and their lives


They won't irrigate any type of fields

Cannot control floods

No supply of water to anyone

Dams are physical structures that are constructed over rivers for the purpose of storage. They also act as barriers and create reservoirs. The reservoirs are used to irrigate fields and also stop flooding.

Dams have been constructed from the period of the kings till today. There are almost 3250 dams all across India.
