hey mate...

here is your answer...

In reference to the state of Chattisgarh. The state produces an abundant amount of coal as most of the coal-mines are situated in this region. There are few demerits of such coal-mines such as air, water, and soil pollution.

Coal-mine Hazards:

Due to large-scale coal-mines and proliferating growth of industries related to coal. The state is vulnerable to various types of diseases.

The minerals trap the toxic substances, but when these toxic substances are exposed to the environment due to mining they cause various environmental issues such as water pollution, soil pollution and air pollution.

Environmental Consequences:

Water Pollution: The deadly chemicals from the coal mines and industries contaminate the river water and most of the habitats, encompassing the area have no other choice than to drink contaminated river water. Such, polluted water consumption gives rise to water-borne diseases.

Soil Degradation: Coal mining involves an extensive digging process which separates minerals from the soil. Thus threatening the existence of many species of plants.

Air Pollution: By the virtue of nature, Sulphur is inseparable from coal. The burning of coal combines Sulphur with Oxygen which produces Sulphur dioxide along with other gases. The release of Sulphur affects water, acidify the soil composition and harms plants as well as human health.
