Different types of economically important plants -

• Medicinal plants : The production of medicines from natural sources like plants and herbs,is a very old tradition in the human society. The Indian ayurvedic medicines are completely dependent on these medicinal plants and that's why these plants are economically important. Eg. Tulsi, Neem, Turmeric etc.

• Wood giving plants : The wood of the plants, is widely used for making furnitures and even used as a source of fuel. Also there are extremy valueable woods like sandalwood, mahogany wood etc. The plants which produce these usable woods are also economically important.

• Fruit and flower giving plants : The fruits and flowers are undoubtedly important in our economy. And,the plants which produce such fruits and flowers,are also economically important.
