germany was divided into several states..the middle class educated people tried to unify germany but it was suppressed by the combined forces of monarchy military and large landowners of prussia called the junkers..then otto vin bismarck of prussia took the charge to unify germany with the help of prussian bureaucracy and military. they fought three wars over seven years with denmark austria and france which led to the german victory. in 18 january 1871 the prussian king kaiser william the first was proclaimed the king of unified germany

2. Prussian Chief Minister, Otto Von Bismarck, with the help of the army and bureaucracy carried out the task of unification.

3. Three wars over seven years with Austria, Denmark and France ended in Prussian victory and completed the process of unification.

4. On 18th January 1871, the Prussian King , Kaiser William-1 was proclaimed German emperor in a ceremony held at Versailles in the presence of important officialls, army representatives and Otto von Bismarck.
