The turmeric paper indicator does not change its colour with acid.

• Various types of liquids will give the following colour:

1. Water (neutral): no change
2. Detergent (basic): yellow to reddish-orange
3. Oil : (slightly basic ) not much change observed slight reddish effect as the ph of oil is 10.

To make the indicator take a tablespoonful of turmeric powder and add a little water and make a paste.
