A democracy is a form of Government of the people, for the people & by the people. It is the most preferred form of Government because it puts actual power in the hands of the people who vote and select their representatives. People thus indirectly have a say in every decision through their elected representative. It is preferred because everyone has a voice which has value unlike other forms of Government such as a dictatorship, aristocracy, oligarchy etc.
