Answer:

The molecular weight of oxalic acid = 126 g.

Amount of oxalic acid required for M/20 solution of 250 mL will be : 126/20 × 250/100 = 1.575 g.

Now, Follow the following procedure to make the standard solution :

  1. Weigh the amount of oxalic acid with the help of watch glass and chemical balance.
  2. Wash a flask of 250 mL thoroughly and transfer the oxalic acid from the watch glass into the flask.
  3. Use a funnel and wash bottle to add water into the flask to increase the volume.
  4. When the volume of the water increase upto the neck of the flask, you may use dropper to add water until the volume reaches 250 mL mark.
  5. Remove the funnel and close the funnel with a stopper.
  6. Then shake the funnel multiple times to completely dissolve the solution you made.
  7. The standard solution is ready.
