Preposition : A preposition is a word or a collection of words which is put before a Noun or Pronoun to show its position in the place or in the situation, or to relate it with other words in a sentence.

Uses of prepositions :

In - the preposition "in" is used to state the position of any object or Noun or Pronoun in a sentence or with respect to phrases, and to determine time as well.

1. The students are in the classroom.

2. Tigers live in the forest.

3. We live in Kolkata.

4. Get up early in the morning.

Of - the preposition "of" is used to state the place of the Noun and to relate Nouns with Nouns or with adverbs.

1. The legs of the table are broken.

2. The mane of a lion is beautiful.

3. The garland is made of flowers.

4. The ring is made of gold.

About - the preposition "about" is mostly used to tell about something in a sentence.

1. What do you think about?

2. They know nothing about him.

3. It is all about time.

Note - one more thing to remember, all these prepositions "in", "of", "about" are also used to make Phrasal Verbs.
