The presence of micro organisms is very important for the growth of plants as:
1. Some micro organisms fix nitrogen (that is convert the nitrogen present in air to soil) . Example: blue green algae.
2. They provide nutrients for the plants.
3. They decompose the organic matter (dead and decaying) into nutrients which help the plants to grow .

Hope this helps...

Answer:

Soil microorganisms are involved in many biogeochemical processes. They are a very important functional group of soil organisms. They are responsible for mineralisation of organic matter, element circulation, synthesis of proteins, and nucleic acids, as well as transformation of phosphorus forms
