Present age difference between father and son is 14yrs.the ratio of their age will be 4:3 after 11 years.how old is son now

let the age of the father be x and
son is y

then x - y = 14.......(1)

after 11 years

father's age is x + 11

and son's is y+11

then the ratio is (x+11)/(y+11)=4/3

3x+33=4y+44

3x-4y=11.......(2)

using substitution method in (1) and (2)

3(14+y)-4y=11

42+3y-4y=11

-y=-31

y=31

x = 31+14=45

therefore father's age is 45 and son's ages is 31
