Let the age of the son=x
then the age of the man=3x.
10 years ago-
the age of son=x-10
the age of man=3x-10
according to the question-
5(x-10)=3x-10
5x-50=3x-10
5x-3x=-10+50
2x=40
x=40/2
x=20
therefore the age of son=x=20
after 3 years-
the age of son=x+3=20+3=23
