Present age of Anita is more than the sum of the ages of her two children by eight years.

The difference between the ages of Anita’s two children is 3 years. If present age of Anita is 45

years. Find the age of her elder child five years back.​

Let us assume Anita's brother's age as X. As Anita is twice as old as her brother her age would be 2X.

In 6 years from now there ages would be

Anita's age = 2X + 6, Anita's brother's age =X +6

So, according to the question, the sum of there ages after 6 years is 39.

Now the equation would be (2X+6) + (X+6) = 39

After solving the above equation we get, X=9

Now 2X=18 and X=9

So, Now the age of Anita is 18 .i.e. 2X and her brother's age is 9 .i.e. X.
