Let the present age of Bitu = x and Sidhi = y

x = 2y + 2 (i)

Age of Sidhi = (y - 4)

Bitu's age = 8(Sidhi's age)

(x - 4) = 8(y - 4) (ii)

Solving 2

x - 4 = 8y - 32

x - 8y = -32 + 4

x - 8y = -28 (iii)

Putting value of x from 1 in 3

2y + 2 - 8y = -28

-6y = -28 - 2

-6y = -30

6y = 30

y = 30/6

y = 5

Now

x = 2y + 2

x = 2(5) + 2

x = 12

Therefore

Age of Bitu = x = 12 years

Age of Sidhi = y = 5 years
