Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Present age of Mohan is five times the present age of his son. After 7 years Mohans age will be three times the then age of his son.

To find:-

Find the Sum of present ages of Mohan and his Son?

Solution :-

Let the present age of Mohan's son be X years

Then the present age of Mohan =

5 times the age of his son

= 5X years

After 7 years their ages will be (X+7) and (5X+7)

After 7 years Mohans age will be three times the then age of his son.

=> (5X+7) = 3(X+7)

=> 5X+7 = 3X+21

=> 5X-3X = 21-7

=>>2X = 14

=> X = 14/2

=> X = 7 years

His son age = 7 years

Mohan's age = 5X = 5(7) = 35 years

Their sum = 7+35 = 42 years

Answer:-

The present age of Mohan = 35 years

The present age of Mohan's son's age = 7 years

The sum of their ages = 42 years

Check :-

Son's age = 7 years

Mohan's age = 35 years

=> 5×7

=> 5 times his son

and

After 7 years their ages 14 and 42

=> 42 = 3×14.

=>After 7 years Mohans age will be three times the then age of his son.
