Answer:

a) 11:2

b) 25:8

c) 10:1

______________

Given:-

  • Present age of mother= 48 years
  • Present age of daughter= 12 years

For A

a) Age of the mother to the age of daughter when daughter is 8 years old.

  • Age of daughter= 8 years (means four , 4 years ago)

So, Age of mother 4 years ago = 48-4 = 44 years

And their ratios = 44:8 = 11:2

For B

b) Age of mother after 2 years to the age of daughter after 2years.

After 2 years

  • Age of mother = 48+2 = 50 years
  • Age of daughter= 12+2 = 14

Ratio =50:14 = 25:8

For C

c) Age of mother to the age of daughter when the mother is 40 years

  • Age of mother = 40 years ( means 8 yrs ago)

So age of daughter 8 years ago = 12-8 = 4 years

And their ratios= 40:4 = 10:1

a) Daughter age = 8 years

12 - 8 = 4

Mother age = 48 - 4 = 44 years

= 44/8

= 11/2

Ratio is 11:2

b) After 2 years

Age of mother = 48 +2 = 50

Age of Daughter = 12 +2 = 14 years

Ratio of age of the mother to age of Daughter = 25:7 years

c) Mother age = 40 years

= 48 - 40 = 8 years

= 12-8 = 4 years

Ratio of age of mother to age of the daughter = 10:1 years
