Required Answer:-

Given:

  • Present age of father is 42 years and that of his son is 14 years.

To Find:

  • Ratio of the present age of father to the present age of son.
  • Raio of age of father to the age of son when father was 30 years old.

Solution:

We have,

➡ Age of Father = 42 years.

➡ Age of Son = 14 years.

Ratio of their present age will be,

= 42 : 14

= 42/14

= 3/1

= 3 : 1

Hence, the ratio of their present age is 3 : 1

Since present age is 42 years,12 years ago, father's age will be 30 years.

So, his son's age will be,

= 14 - 12 years

= 2 years.

Ratio of their ages will be,

= 30 : 2

= 15 : 1

Hence, the ratio of their age when father was thirty years old is 15 : 1

Answer:

  1. Ratio - 3 : 1
  2. Ratio: 15 : 1
