Present ages of Akhil and Anand is in the ratio 4:5. Eight years from now,

the ratio of their ages will be 5:6. Find their present ages.​

Hey mate your ans,

let the common ratio=x

present age of akhil=4x yrs

present age of anand = 5x yrs

8 yrs frm now,

age of akhil = 4x+8 yrs

age of anand =5x+8 yrs

ATQ (according to question)

4x+8/5x+8=5/6

by cross multiply

6(4x+8)=5(5x+8)

24x+48=25x+40

48-40=25x-24x

8=1x

x=8

present age of akhil = 4x=4×8=32yrs

present age of anand= 5x= 5×8 =40 yrs

  • Eight years from now,  the ratio of their ages will be 5:6

To Find :

  • To Find their present ages

Explanation :

  • Let the age of Akhil be ' x '
  • The age of Anand be ' x '
  • So,Ratio of present ages is 4x : 5x

∴ A/q

4x+8:5x+8 = 5:6

⇒6(4x+8)=5(5x+8)

⇒24x+48=25x+40

⇒x = 8

So,Present ages of ,

Akhil = 4x = 32

Anand = 5x = 40
