To Find:

• There present age.

Solution:

$\small\bold{Let\:the\:present\:age\:of\:Anu\:and\:Raj\:be}$ $\small\bold{4x\:and\:5x.}$

$\small\bold{So,\:there\:ages\:after\:8\:years\:be}$ $\small\bold{(4x+8):(5x+8)}$

$\small\bold{According\:to\:the\:Question\:}$

$\implies$ $\large\bold{{\frac{4x+8}{5x+8}}\:={\frac{5}{6}}}$

$\implies$ $\bold{(4x+8)×6\:=\:(5x+8)×5\:}$ $\small\bold{(∴cross\:multiplication.)}$

$\implies$ $\bold{24x+48\:=\:25x+40}$

$\implies$ $\bold{48-40\:=\:25x-24x}$

$\implies$ $\bold{8\:=\:x}$

$\implies$ $\bold{x\:=\:8}$

$\bold{∴Present\:age\:of\:Anu=4x}$$\bold{so,4×8=32}$
