Present ages of Mohan and Gopal are in the ratio of 4:5 . Eight years from now the ratio of their ages will be 5:6. Find their present ages.

let the multiplier of the ratio is x.
so there ages are 4x and 5x at present.
after 8 years there ages will be 4x+8,5x+8.
the ratio is (4x+8)/5x+8)=5/6
after cross multiply 6(4x+8)=5(5x+8)
=>24x+48=25x+40
=>48-40=25x-24x
=>x=8
so their present ages are 4*8&5*8=32,40
