Let the age of Mohan be 4x and Rahul be 5x

Eight years feom now, the age of Mohan = 4x + 8

Age of Rahul = 5x + 8


After 8 years, let the ratio be 5x and 6x



According to the question,

4x + 8 + 5x + 8 = 5x + 6x

9x + 16 = 11x

16 = 11x - 9x

2x = 16

x = $\dfrac{16}{2}$

x = 8


Present age of Mohan = 4x = 4 × 8 = 32 years

Present age of Rahul = 5x = 5 × 8 = 40 years
