Let the present age be 3x and 4x

Then,

(4x + 4) - ( 3x + 4) = 5

4x - 3x = 5

x = 5

P's present age = 3x = 3 × 5 = 15 years.

Let p's age be 3x years and q's age be 4x years
A/Q
4x + 4 = (3x + 4) + 5 \\   =  > 4x +  4 = 3x + 9 \\  =  > x = 5
Therefore,
P's age =3 x 5
=15 years
Q's age=4 x 5
=20 years
