Present ages of Ram and Rahim are in the ratio 4 is to 5 .8 years from now the ratio of their ages will be 5 is to 6 find their present ages

let the ages be x
present ages will be
Ram=4x
Rahim=5x
after 8 years there age will be
Ram=4x+8
Rahim=5x+8
after 8years the ratio is 5:6
therefore
4x+8/ 5x +8 = 5/6
6(4x+8)=5(5x+8)
24x+48=25x+40
48-40=25x-24x
therefore 1x=8

so present ages are
Ram=4x i.e. 4×8=32
Rahim=5x i.e. 5×8=40
