Answer:

Let their ages  be 4x and 5x

4x+8+5x+8 = 5x+6x

9x+16=11x

11x-9x=16

2x=16

x=16/2

x=8

present age of Ramu = 4x = 4*8 = 32

present age of Raju = 5x = 5*8 = 40

Answer

Let present age of ravi be x

Let present age of raju be y

As per first condition

x/y = 4/5

Therefore 5x= 4y

Therefore 5x-4y = 0 (1)

After eight years age of ravi will be x+8 and of ravi y+8 respectively

Therefore as per second condition

(x+8) /( y+8) = 5/6

Solving second equation

Therefore 6x+48 = 5y+ 40

Therefore 6x-5y = 40-48

Therefore 6x -5y =-8 -(2)

Solving equations 1&2

Multiplying equation 1 by 5 and multiplying equation 2 by 4

Now solve it simultaneously

U will get 20x-20y =0

And

24x-20y = -32

Subtracting both

U will get x = 8

Substitute in equation 1

40-4y = 0

y =10

So present ages of ravi and raju is 8 and 10 respectively
